Tammy Lee Christensen has over 25 years of experience in public health and nutrition. She earned a Doctor in Business Administration at Thomas Edison State University. Her specialty track was in Human Resource Management track and her field research was in Family Succession.
Tammy graduated from Tulane University with a Masters of Public Health in International Health Systems Management and from Hunter College with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Food Science.
Tammy is dedicated to improving the community's knowledge of science, health, and cultural competence.
Tammy is an Internship Coordinator and lectures at the City University of New York. Tammy uses unique techniques to teach science and health systems by making the topics easy to understand and fun to learn. She believes it is essential to continue educating oneself about new information.
Tammy enjoys traveling, rock climbing & hiking, dancing, traveling, and watching science fiction & superhero films. Her favorite characters are Doctor Who, Loki, and the Monkey King because they are clever. She loves how they solve and resolve problems.
Research Director
Dr. Mónica Stanton-Koko has over 25 years of experience in research, clinical, government, social influences, and community interventions with New York City, Argentina, Mexico, Ghana, and the United Nations. She completed her Doctorate of Education in Health Education and her Masters of Education in Applied Anthropology at Teachers College, Columbia University. She received her Masters of Public Health in Community Health Education and her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and Food Science at Hunter College.
Mónica has extensive experiences in meta-analysis. She can explain the multiple factors of cultural diversity, health disparities, and social determinants regarding disparities and equity. Mónica comprehends how to develop, code, collapse, and manage databases for both quantitative (SPSS) and qualitative research from inception to final analysis.
Mónica‘s favorite superhero is Professor X. Professor X is a genius and he inspires Mónica to use her power of knowledge.
Human Computer Interaction Director
Dr. Li-Shan Tao has over 20 years of higher education experiences. Li-Shan earned her Ph.D. in Education with specializations in Instructional Technology and Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University. She completed three master degrees. She has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration of Information Systems at St. John’s University, a Master of Science in Human Computer Interaction at Iowa State University, and a Master of Science in Hospitality at Iowa State University. Li-Shan studied Tourism at Chinese Culture University in Taiwan.
Currently, Li-Shan is facilitating online courses in systems thinking at Cornell University. She held positions as a certified instructional designer at Colorado State University online. Her skills include using Canvas to design structure and educational assessments that are used in online, hybrid, and residential courses. Li-Shan also develops accredited and industrial adult learning certified courses. These courses embrace various instructional technologies in both team-based and self-directed learning, including audio and video recordings using Camtasia. Li-Shan has the skills to apply the concepts of prototyping, user experiences and interfaces, and digital usability and accessibility.
Li-Shan enjoys watching Sci-Fi movies, fixing her house, swimming, practicing Taichi, traveling, and eating delicious foods from around the world!
